Shawdi & Michael | Tyge William Cellars Wedding
Oh me, oh my, Shawdi and Michael’s Tyge William Cellars wedding was just perfection. Shawdi found me through one of my favorite couples, Jess and Sully. (Remember Jess and Sully from their magical Cuffey’s Cove wedding?) Both Jess and Shawdi work at Airbnb, and I always get excited to work with my Airbnb couples — they are the most laidback couples with the coolest taste, and despite how tough and long a wedding day can be, I always feel so recharged and inspired afterwards. Shawdi and Michael’s wedding celebration was no exception.
Walking around Tyge William Cellars’ beautifully lush yet manicured property with its modern white barn , I knew the day was going to be a good one, but as I learned more and more about Shawdi and Michael’s relationship through their ceremony and toasts, I knew this was going to be one of the weddings that would stand out for years to come. Shawdi and Michael are college sweethearts slash BFFs, just like Robbie and me. Shawdi’s first words to Michael during their First Look was “I missed you,” and when I heard those words, my heart just damn melted. Her words transported me back to my wedding day and my feelings of relief and excitement when I was finally reunited with Robbie, my best bud, during our First Look.
Their wedding day was a perfect amalgamation of Shawdi and Michael. Tyge William Cellars’ white barn was a beautiful setting for Shawdi’s all white clad bridal party, the long communal dinner tables heavy with food, wine, and laughter, and Shawdi and Michael’s effortless relationship and style. Their light, playful humor easily set the tone of the day — amongst the laughter of their guests, they played Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who would read their vows first. They played homage to Shawdi’s Persian heritage by including a Persian wedding ceremony led by her father and mother and a hella lit dance floor mixed with bouncing Persian music and relatives. It’s not easy to have one day define your relationship to your people, but Shawdi and Michael’s Tyge William Cellars wedding was the perfect example of how to effortlessly lead an awesome foundation between two rad people into a rocking wedding.
